So, how many like eggnog? How about fruitcake?
I grew up with eggnog and fruitcake at christmas. and fondue christmas eve, and cheese logs and crackers (especially Twigs), and hot (vege) chicken salad, and homemade cranberry sauce... but back to eggnog and fruitcake. I'm not the biggest fan of either, but I enjoy a little once a year.
I realize that not all people like eggnog. And not all people like fruitcake (although I have a really good recipe for a no-bake fruitcake made w/ graham crackers). But it makes me wonder - what is it about eggnog or fruitcake that people don't like?

my favorite things...
are at Crate and Barrel (http://www.crateandbarrel.com). I love Crate and Barrel. Granted, I've only been in their store twice (it's not my fault they've no stores near me!), and I only own two pinecone candles from them. But I still love them. They have all sorts of cool stuff, like bright colored sheets, dishes, and rugs. And really cool accessories for the home.
For now, I just enjoy perusing their web page and finding cool goldfish ornaments (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/itemgroups/6165_0.asp). And when the catalog comes, I pour over it and imagine how I could decorate with cool things they have, and realize that someday, maybe I'll own more than pinecone candles from Crate and Barrel :)

bad weather...
So last Sunday morning, we woke to snow. And it snowed for half the day, giving us about 2 inches of snow. Then Monday afternoon, it snowed until 5pm or so, giving us another inch or so. Then Tuesday afternoon, it snowed again, and we had another inch. The trees in the park along the way to work looked so cool, all branches covered in snow. We had at least 4 inches of wonderful white snow. Wednesday afternoon came along, and it started to snow. But then the snow turned to rain, and it kept raining, and the snow began melting. And it kept raining, and melting the snow. Wednesday night and Thursday it warmed up into the 40s, and melted the snow.
So now we just have "bare" looking land, with no more snow. I'm very disappointed in the rain.
