help!

Please let me know if I ever get to sounding stupid, as in people tell me something and we discuss it and within less than 5 minutes I'm repeating something back to you, something totally different, that you DID NOT say. All the while acting like that's what you just told me.

Do they not realize that makes them seem dumb when it appears they totally didn't hear what you just told them. Do you really think that's what I just said? Beacuse IT'S NOT!

Or is it that they really don't hear that well and info doesn't click in their brain. Because if that's the case, how on earth have you made it this far? Who's got their head on wrong to put you in a power position when you can't accurately relay info?

i feel compelled to post the discussion that led up to this observation:

Person A to person B: “Set up a meeting with this committee for either this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon. John Doe is flying in at 2:55 this afternoon, so we could meet at 3:30p today.”

Discussion among the two of schedules, whether to have full blown committee, or just committee to meet with John Doe, again time stated John Doe is flying in, when to have another committee, more discussion of schedule, again time stated when John Doe is flying in and schedule of Person A spending time with John Doe. This all takes less than 3 minutes.

Person B, coming to conclusion that today is best to have committee meeting with John Doe: “Now John Doe is flying in at 12 you said?”

Alodia: “2:55 today. He said 2:55.”
